Iona Singleton

Iona is a somatic psychologist based in New York City. Her work supports individuals and communities through trauma-informed, embodied, and relational approaches to holistic health.

She works in community and private practice with OnPoint NYC, Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy at NYU, Newus Clinic in London, and Backline Care internationally. Having lived across the UK and Europe, India, and North America, Iona brings a cross-cultural lens to her work. Her training includes Compassionate Inquiry, completed under the supervision of Gabor Maté, alongside somatic psychology, art psychotherapy, Ayurveda and herbal medicine, yoga, and other embodied trauma-informed practices. She holds an MSc in Psychology and is currently completing her Doctorate in Counselling Psychology & Existential Psychotherapy with the New School of Psychotherapy & Counselling, founded by Emmy van Deurzen in London.

Before moving into clinical practice, Iona spent over a decade working in the music industry, touring internationally with artists and non-profits. Through this work, she created short films and programs that opened up conversations about mental health beyond traditional clinical spaces. In 2020, she founded Within Without, a creative space for trauma-informed workshops, reflective practice, and community-based healing, through which she continues to host workshops and offerings internationally.
